Physical Education at Birchen Coppice Primary School

The children at Birchen Coppice enjoy a varied and exciting breadth of study aimed at developing skills and an awareness of physical well being. All children from Nursery to Year Six undertake at least two sessions of active programme each week. The main strands of the National Curriculum are all covered within;

  • Gymnastics
  • Dance
  • Outdoor and Adventurous
  • Games
  • Swimming

The school also benefits from its membership of the Wyre Forest School Sports Partnership which allows staff to access resources, professional development and competitions. The school competes in football, tag rugby, netball, rounders, Kho Kho, hockey, athletics [both indoor and outdoor] and cross country. We started in November to show this off using Twitter - take a look below to see what we have been up to since then.

All children at the school are strongly encouraged to engage in the wide choice of clubs, festivals and competitions both at school and on the road! Every child will attend a festival at Baxter College along with their peers from the other schools in the pyramid. Clubs change each term and this term's are listed below;

  • Football with KHFC
  • Forest School
  • Darts
  • Netball
  • Craft

BCPS Out & About

Look at what the children at Birchen Coppice Primary School have been achieving away from school. They participate and compete with flair, determination and a sense of fair play. Well done to each and every one of you!
